A journey to Branding.

I'm a brand strategist, an interior designer, and a change advocate.

How did I get here?
Growing up I witnessed social inequalities in many forms. I was exposed to political unrest from an early age as I was born in Venezuela, a country marked by corruption and injustice. Then for some time I lived in Guyana, I was unable to escape the instability and crimes that existed in underdeveloped communities. As a result, In 2001 at the age of 12, my family and I immigrated to New York City — just a week before 9/11. It was at this moment that I began questioning how divided and unwell the world truly is, and the staggering amount of work left to be done.

Where do I fit into the solution?
I became both curious and observant of the world I lived in. I realized the amount of impact that art has on me, as a medium for expression and communication. I pursued Fine Arts and Interior Architecture in college aiming to understand how art can be the medium to help improve communities. To amplify this message, I pursued a Masters in Communications — further solidifying my understanding of improving communities.
I’m fortunate to have been able to contribute my passion and thinking for a few NGO’s and small brands — empowering them to leverage their message to engage their audience and community — to grow their support and clientele.
Through my work I’ve discovered community building can take place in many forms. I am now cultivating a system in which we can leverage the power of brands to build community and keep them engaged. With this, I stay curious and observant.

Why is this important?
The world would be a better place if we collectively worked together & I believe creative thinking is the answer for doing this.

This blog is my platform to explore and dissect ways brands can be a part of driving change for communities while still growing their business.
